Sundance Elementary in Beaumont California has adopted a positive school-wide discipline program to support the behavioral success of all students. The implementation of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) involves commitment from the entire staff to teach, enforce, and acknowledge appropriate student behaviors. By working together, they build a safe and orderly campus where everyone feels welcome. They love to “catch” students behaving well whenever possible and praise them! (We’ve seen them in action!) Throughout the year, they focus on the “Six Pillars of Character”: Caring, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness and Good Citizenship. Along with the help of parents and the community, they are taking an active role to instill these lifelong character traits in their students.
